Charles White - JDM Impressions

Written by Jordan Digital Marketing | May 24, 2024 2:00:00 PM

Working remotely, like we do at JDM, doesn’t mean being disconnected from colleagues. As part of our culture-building initiative, and to introduce the digital marketing world to our awesome team members, we regularly peel back the curtain on the lives of JDMers. This week, we’ll get to know Performance Marketing Specialist Charles White!

Name: Charles “Chuck” White

Position: Performance Marketing Specialist

Location: Springfield, MA

When did you begin working at JDM?

March 2024.

What’s the most gratifying part of working with your clients?

Being able to give them full transparency and leading with open communication; this really makes it feel like we’re one team working together.

In a remote company, how do you stay connected with your team?

We have regular 1:1 meetings that kick off with icebreakers or just general chats about life. There’s plenty of time to do work in a remote role, but making the time to get to know your coworkers is also so important. JDM has a perfect balance of that.

What's something you love about JDM?

There’s a lot, and I’m guessing people have covered a bunch of reasons to love JDM in their Impressions posts, so I’m going for something different: the hoodie that they send to each new employee is incredibly comfortable.

Can you recall a time when JDM challenged you, and how we supported you through that time?

I came into JDM to take on the workload of someone who was leaving soon after I joined. It was pretty daunting, but I had the full support of my team members, who were always looking to give insights or offer answers when I had questions. They also gave me a lot of grace as I learned the ropes.

What’s the best thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?

I’m still new to the company so trips haven’t happened yet, but many long golf weekends with a few fishing trips sprinkled in are in my near future!

What's something you love about the marketing industry?

I love how adaptable and innovative it is. Consumer trends, government regulations, and technology are all always changing. As marketers, we get to act fast to problem-solve and it always feels like we’re doing something new and exciting.

What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or in your channel this year?

The sunsetting of the cookie – at least, smart brands are still going to tackle that even though Google kicked the can down the road again. It’s a big deal: something we’ve relied on for tracking and campaign targeting is going away, and as an industry we have to adapt.

What digital marketing platform, technology, or skill do you see gaining the most traction in the next 1-2 years, and why?

I might get some dirty looks from digital marketers here, but we are going old school! Creating digital experiences Out-of-Home is going to be key for success. Think about Times Square and all the cool things that go on those billboards; it’s kinda the jumping off point for a lot of omnichannel strategies that then get the consumer looking online and entering our digital marketing realm.

What are the names and ages of your kids (or furbabies)?

I have 35 house plants - and yes, they each have a name. My favorite is a monstera named “Judje” (yes, with 2 Js) that has grown too big for a normal living space.
