Marco Primerano - JDM Impressions

Written by Jordan Digital Marketing | Jan 6, 2023 4:30:29 PM

Working remotely, like we do at JDM, doesn’t mean being disconnected from colleagues. As part of our culture-building initiative, and to introduce the digital marketing world to our awesome team members, we regularly peel back the curtain on the lives of JDMers. This week, we’ll get to know Performance Marketing Manager Marco Primerano!

Name: Marco Primerano
Position: Performance Marketing Manager
Location: I’ve been living month-to-month in different cities for the last 2 years. Most recently in Asheville, NC, next stop Hawaii!

When did you begin working at JDM?
I started January, 2022.

How did you know JDM was the right fit for you?
I knew during my final interview. Everyone showed genuine care for the work they were doing, and they seemed to also be really down to earth and cool. I knew there’d be a lot to learn from everyone and was excited to get started.

What’s your favorite part of the workday?
My favorite part of the workday is collaborating with the team. We have a lot of masterminds and unique personalities here; I love learning from them and am always inspired.

What’s the most gratifying part of working with your clients?
Getting them the results they’re looking for. Behind any successful campaign are a lot of hard-working people with bright minds. Being able to build trust with a client and collaborate with them to grow their business is super-satisfying.

In a remote company, how do you stay connected with your team?
I love setting up random check-in meetings, especially with team members I don’t get to work with as much. Staying connected with the team is super-important and definitely helps team morale.

What three words would you use to describe the JDM culture?
Hardworking, cool, genuine.

What's something you love about JDM?
I love the flexibility of working remotely. I’ve been able to travel around the country living month-to-month in different cities. It’s awesome that the company not only allows it but encourages it and is super-supportive.

Can you recall a time when JDM challenged you, and how we supported you through that time?
The whole team is extremely supportive. When the to-do lists starts overflowing, the team is always there to jump in and help, and I jump in to reciprocate when the load lightens. There’s a strong circle of trust here.

What’s the best thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?

Capulin Volcano, NM

Sequoia National Park

Austin, TX

   Chicago for St. Pattys day

Channel Islands, CA

What's something you love about the marketing industry?
I love how unpredictable it is. Digital marketing trends change by the second. The industry forces you to stay on top of your game and to constantly be in the know and challenge yourself every day.

What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or in your channel this year?
As we get closer to a cookie-less marketing world, marketing teams are being challenged to come up with innovative ways to hit their customers. It’s cool to see how each business or agency reacts when an entire agency is faced with a new challenge.

What digital marketing platform, technology, or skill do you see gaining the most traction in the next 1-2 years, and why?
Short-form video. We’ve seen TikTok and video reels continue to explode in popularity. Short clips with strong, stimulating messaging will continue to outperform other media forms, and if they’re produced correctly, they will be a marketer’s most effective ad type.

What are the names and ages of your kids (or furbabies)?
Name: Boykins.  Age 12. Nickname: Pookie, but won’t respond to either name. He loves second breakfast, people watching, and a good matinee.

What's something you've implemented or tested, and what was the outcome?
This year we’ve tested out a lot of new copy to complement our website form fills. It’s really interesting to see what resonates with people and what doesn’t. Sometimes it’s totally unpredictable, and that’s what makes it the most interesting.
