Working remotely, as we do at JDM, doesn’t mean being disconnected from colleagues. As part of our culture-building initiative, and to introduce the digital marketing world to our awesome team members, we regularly peel back the curtain on the lives of JDMers. This week, we’ll get to know Content Marketing Manager Paige Lichtenwalter!
Name: Paige Lichtenwalter
Position: Content Marketing Manager
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
When did you begin working at JDM?
I began working at JDM in April of 2023.
How did you know JDM was the right fit for you?
I wanted to continue to grow my career, and JDM has a ton of opportunities for growth and leadership as we continue to expand our services. There is also an outstanding work-life balance, which is really important to me.
What’s your favorite part of the workday?
My favorite part of the workday is coming up with new ideas for clients. I love being creative and finding new ways to solve problems and reach the goals of my clients with innovative content.
What’s the most gratifying part of working with your clients?
The most gratifying part of being a content marketing manager is telling the stories of my clients and connecting their target audience with a solution that benefits them.
In a remote company, how do you stay connected with your team?
We use Slack to communicate daily, and we have weekly meetings with our team and as a whole company. This helps everyone stay on the same page even without being in the same room.
What three words would you use to describe the JDM culture?
Expanding, encouraging, and rewarding!
What's something you love about JDM?
I love the flexibility of being able to work from home while still working on really exciting content projects for fast-growing companies.
Can you recall a time when JDM challenged you, and how we supported you through that time?
As I’ve been getting into the swing of things here at JDM, I’m constantly being challenged with more responsibilities including account management and improving processes and services. JDM has a great support system; they provide ample training for new job responsibilities in addition to always being open to new ideas for improving internal structure and external services to clients.
What’s the best thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
My husband and I went camping in Yosemite for the first time. That had been a bucket-list item for some time, and we finally get to cross it off the list!
What's something you love about the marketing industry?
I love that the marketing industry is constantly changing. Learning new things energizes me so it’s exciting to work in an industry where you always have the opportunity to continue learning and trying new ideas.
What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or your channel this year?
Two big ones come to mind as a content marketer. #1: The introduction of AI with ChatGPT, Bard, etc. as a tool to use when creating content, and #2: The final sunsetting of Universal Analytics and the transition to GA4. It’ll be very interesting to see how these two items shake out over the coming months and years!
What digital marketing platform, technology, or skill do you see gaining the most traction in the next 1-2 years, and why?
I think the new social media platform from Meta, Threads, will be an interesting channel to test over the coming months.
What are the names and ages of your kids (or furbabies)?
I have one, 5-year-old cat named Oliver.
What's something you've implemented or tested, and what was the outcome?
One of my clients had a ton of great content that just hadn’t been updated in a few years. We took on the project of updating and optimizing all their old content, and it resulted in an increase in traffic and keywords for the client without having to create any new content. This was a great reminder to utilize what you already have to your benefit in addition to creating new content!
What’s a project that you’ve worked on that you’ve really enjoyed?
I love any project where I get to put my writing skills and creativity to work! I was able to create a Branding, Voice, and Tone Guide as well as some personas for a client that didn’t have any. This instantly helped our content become more focused and cohesive!
