Sabrina Burner - JDM Impressions

Written by Jordan Digital Marketing | Jun 21, 2024 2:00:00 PM

Working remotely, like we do at JDM, doesn’t mean being disconnected from colleagues. As part of our culture-building initiative, and to introduce the digital marketing world to our awesome team members, we regularly peel back the curtain on the lives of JDMers. This week, we’ll get to know SEO Manager Sabrina Burner!

Name: Sabrina Burner

Position: SEO Manager

Location: Groton, CT

When did you begin working at JDM?

The first time: March 15, 2021.

The second time: May 13, 2024.

How did you know JDM was the right fit for you?

First impressions are everything, and the Head of SEO and Content set a remarkable tone for the entire organization. The enthusiasm and expertise of the SEO team left a lasting impression on me. More importantly, I felt genuinely welcomed and inspired to achieve great things both personally and professionally.

When I decided to return, it was because I deeply missed working with this exceptional team and admired their consistent commitment to backing up their claims with concrete actions.

What’s your favorite part of the workday?

My favorite time is early morning, uninterrupted head starts. I enjoy the silence, paused notifications, and time to focus.

What’s the most gratifying part of working with your clients?

The most gratifying part of my work is building a strong rapport with clients, feeling like an integral part of their business, and seeing the impact of our campaigns and tests.

In a remote company, how do you stay connected with your team?

Jokes, movies, and endless emoji-filled Slack channels.

What three words would you use to describe the JDM culture?

Authentic, supportive, and unpredictable.

What's something you love about JDM?

I love our overall culture and leadership styles, and my heart adores my fellow SEO colleagues. Working with a team full of introverts and low-key comedians is incredibly rewarding and a true delight.

Can you recall a time when JDM challenged you, and how we supported you through that time?

Although I used to shy away from sharing my ideas and strategies despite being highly analytical, JDM put me in positions to grow and provided feedback that ignited my confidence in my abilities.

What’s the best thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?

I cannot pinpoint the best thing, but I know it always involves traveling, competitions, and family.

What's something you love about the marketing industry?

Marketing is anything but boring. Many are called, but few are chosen.

What digital marketing platform, technology, or skill do you see gaining the most traction in the next 1-2 years, and why?

The art of persuasion and delivery is becoming increasingly important with the rise of AI technology. We need to effectively explain the "why" and bridge the gap between our marketing strategies and users' search intent.

What are the names and ages of your kids (or furbabies)?

Crystal (11), David (9), and Emalia (2)

What’s a project that you’ve worked on that you’ve really enjoyed?

One standout project currently in progress is a featured snippet initiative, challenging our team to take our recommendations to the next level in order to capture this unique Google attribute.
